Mariposa Explosion: Selfdrafted Butterfly print scuba dress

So you might remember me blogging earlier this year about the Fuchsia midi dress I made from a selfdrafted pattern (see it here). Well, I've been getting so much wear out of it that I decided to make another! The butterfly print scuba I used for this version (which has been calling out to me from the fabric stash for over a year now) is from Fabricland in Kingston. I'm trying to sew all my own clothes this year rather than buying them which I've managed to do so far, so this dress will be a welcome addition to my MeMade wardrobe!

Again I used an invisible zip and a narrow overlock stitch in bright pink thread on the hem and sleeves to add a bit of a contrast.

I've just finished making an outfit using the I Am Patterns Hermes Shirt Dress pattern. So watch  this space...
